It’s not a hidden fact that before every season, to prepare for the season your HVAC system should be serviced. Now there are several HVAC company’s which would suggest different times to get your AC checked. But if you ask the experts, they would say that the right time to service the AC is right before the summers kick in, that is, in Spring.

In every season, the outside unit has to go through a lot. Rain, dust, pollens, sleet these are some of the causes that can harm your AC. They might not stop your AC from functioning, but they would definitely not let it function efficiently.

Problems If AC is Not Serviced

  • If you do not get your AC serviced before the summer season, then you might not be saving so much of energy. For instance, after a dust storm, it is imperative that there would be dust inside the unit. If it is not cleaned on time, then the filters would be dirty, the coils could be dirty, and therefore, to maintain temperature, your AC would consume more energy.
  • Climatic conditions could even damage the unit at times. It is advised that you get your AC checked by specialist so that they can determine if there was a Freon leak or any leak in the system drains and lines. Drain lines might not be that initially and won’t hamper the functioning of the AC as such, unless they are badly clogged. But if there is a Freon leak or if the Freon gas in your system is low, then you might not be able to get the desired temperature from your AC.

To stay safe of all these problems, when you have time why not get the AC serviced. HVAC contractors are all the more busy during the summer season tending to calls, so your service call might not get attended on time. But during the spring season, the call rush is comparatively low, so you can have a repair man scheduled as per your needs.

What Should be Checked

A thorough examination by a quality HVAC contractor would include:

  • Gas Level
  • Ducts
  • Condenser and Evaporator Coils

  • Vents
  • Filters
  • Purifying Unit

Apart from checking, a quality service technician would also look at the performance of the AC. They should be able to advise you if there is any repair that is required or if there is any part that should be changed. That is why, to get a complete diagnostic and maintenance service, always contact a trusted HVAC contractor.
