  • Cleaning from Outside

So first cut off the electrical supply to the condensing unit by either removing the block or plug or by shutting the breaker off. Then vacuum with soft brush nozzle. Also, clear the surroundings of bushes, weeds or debris. Don’t rush through vacuuming the machine; The fins are very closely placed, so if something has gone inside, then the vacuum would take time to pull it off.

  • Cleaning from Inside

Now unscrew the fan and take it off carefully. Make sure that you don’t create tension in the electrical wires and are very precautious about it. Now carefully pull out any debris that you might see inside the unit. Using a damp cloth wipe the interior surface clean. If you have not done it for quite some time, then it is quite possible that you might need two three pieces of cloth. So make sure you have adequately supplied.

Apart from these simple cleans on the condensing unit, the only other thing that you might need to look at are the filters. Dirty filters could also cause dust to come inside the condensing unit. This should make your HVAC system more efficient. If it doesn’t cool properly, then it would be appropriate to call a qualified HVAC repair person. The system could be low on Freon or there could be some other problem, and if you are not qualified, then it is not advised to check or repair those.
